VidForgeX Manufacturing: AI Video Intelligence for Factory Floors
Manufacturing operations generate more video data than any other sector — yet most plants make zero decisions from it. VidForgeX Manufacturing turns workstation cameras into continuous OEE inputs, cycle time databases, and ergonomic risk monitors.
Manufacturing use cases
Establish accurate cycle time baselines for all workstations. Replace historical estimates with video-measured actuals. Feed OEE Performance component directly.
Identify imbalanced production lines where some stations run below takt time while others exceed it. Redistribute work elements to eliminate bottlenecks.
Analyze changeover footage frame by frame. Classify activities as internal/external. Identify opportunities to convert internal operations to external.
Pose estimation flags high-risk postures and repetitive motions. Generate REBA/RULA observation data without sending an analyst to the floor.
Verify assembly procedures against defined work instructions. Detect skipped steps, incorrect sequence, and non-standard methods before they cause quality issues.
Compare new hires vs experienced operators on the same task. Identify specific steps where training gaps appear. Generate targeted retraining content.
OEE input from video
OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality. Most plants measure Availability (from downtime logs) and Quality (from defect rates) but estimate Performance. VidForgeX Manufacturing measures the Performance component directly from video:
Performance = (Ideal Cycle Time × Total Count) ÷ Run Time
VidForgeX measures actual cycle time distributions and counts production units from video, giving you the input for accurate Performance calculation — without sensor installation.
Lean manufacturing integration
VidForgeX Manufacturing produces data that feeds directly into lean improvement cycles: Value Stream Mapping (VSM) inputs from video-measured cycle and wait times, Kaizen event baseline data, 5S observation data (search time, motion waste), and standard work documentation from best-practice run analysis. The result: faster PDCA cycles grounded in measured data rather than estimates.
