Agentic Video Intelligence
Agentic video intelligence is the use of AI agents to autonomously process video content, extract structured insights, and take actions — without a human directing each step. Rather than a tool you query, an agentic video intelligence system continuously observes, reasons about, and acts on video data as part of a larger AI workflow.
From passive analytics to agentic intelligence
Traditional video analytics is a human-in-the-loop workflow: upload a video, wait for analysis, open a dashboard, review a report. The human decides what to analyze, interprets the results, and takes action. The AI is a tool — useful, but passive.
Agentic video intelligence flips this model. The AI agent decides what to analyze, retrieves results, interprets them in context, and acts — generating summaries, triggering alerts, calling downstream tools, or spinning up additional analyses. The human defines the goal; the agent executes the workflow.
VidForgeX is designed from the ground up for agentic integration: a structured MCP tool server, typed tool schemas, API key auth with per-key scopes, global rate limiting, and a Video RAG knowledge base that agents can query with natural language.

Example agentic workflow — SOP compliance monitor
A multi-step agentic video intelligence workflow running on Claude with VidForgeX MCP access:
Goal given to agent: "Review all recordings uploaded this week from Warehouse B, flag any sessions where SOP compliance is below 80%, summarize the violations, and tag each flagged session with a compliance alert note."
Agent execution:
Step 1 — Agent calls get_team_summary with period_days=7 and filters for Warehouse B. Receives list of 14 session IDs uploaded this week.
Step 2 — Agent calls get_sop_compliance for each session ID. Identifies 3 sessions with compliance scores below 80%: Session 7 (72%), Session 11 (68%), Session 14 (61%).
Step 3 — Agent calls ask_about_session for each flagged session with question "What specific violations drove the compliance score down?" Receives violation summaries with timestamps from the Video RAG knowledge base.
Step 4 — Agent synthesizes findings into a compliance report: 3 sessions flagged, top violation categories, recommended corrective actions. Delivers report to the requesting user.
This entire workflow — 14 tool calls across 4 steps — executes autonomously in under 3 minutes. The same analysis done manually would require an analyst to watch portions of 14 recordings and cross-reference compliance data, taking hours.
Agentic access security model
Agentic access to video data requires a stronger security model than human UI access, because agents can make hundreds of requests per minute and operate without human review of each call. VidForgeX enforces security at multiple layers:
API key scoping
Each API key has configurable scopes (analysis, chat, admin) and org scope (single org, selected orgs, or all user orgs). An agent key used only for querying results should be created with chat scope only — it cannot submit new analyses even if called by a misconfigured agent.
Global rate limiting
Rate limits are enforced globally — an agent that distributes requests across concurrent connections still hits the same limit. Standard: 60 req/min; elevated: 300 req/min; Enterprise: 10,000 req/min.
Org-level isolation
All agent queries are subject to the same org-scoped row-level security as human queries. An agent with a key scoped to Organization A cannot retrieve data from Organization B, regardless of what parameters it passes.
Audit logging
Every MCP tool call is logged for audit purposes. Logs include function name, action, org ID, and request metadata — never raw request bodies, AI payloads, or secrets.
What's on the agentic roadmap
Current VidForgeX agentic intelligence operates on recorded video. The next frontier is real-time trigger-based agentic workflows: live stream events triggering agent analysis, threshold breaches automatically dispatching compliance reviews, and continuous agent monitoring of operational footage without human scheduling. Real-time agentic video intelligence is in active development.
